TEP work will be performed to upgrade underground equipment on and near East Skyline Drive beginning in November which will help improve electric reliability for customers in the area.
Lane closures and other traffic control measures will be required during this work, which is scheduled to begin on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019 and continue for at least four weeks. During this time, Skyline will be closed between North Mesa View Drive and North Columbus Boulevard.
Traffic on Skyline Drive will be diverted around construction activity using North Swan Road, East Coronado Drive and North Alvernon Way. Periodic traffic stops and other traffic controls may be required as crews perform their work. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey all traffic rules near this construction. Field crews will work as quickly and as safely as possible to minimize inconvenience for motorists and area residents.
In preparation of this work, TEP crews began upgrades in Sept. at the Coronado Substation at E. Skyline and E. Alvernon Circle. Six neighboring residents received a call on 9/19 to inform them of that work.
